A recent report, conducted by Our World in Data, ranks Malta as the country with the highest percentage of the population being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
According to the report on the 12th of September 2021, over 80% of the Maltese population have received the full dose of the Covid-19 vaccination, making it a world leader by the percentage of vaccinations per population.
The report shows the daily snapshot of the share of the population fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and is calculated by the total number of people who received all doses prescribed by the vaccination protocol, divided by the total population of the country.
Malta is followed closely by Portugal which also has over 80% of its population fully vaccinated. The graph shows that only 10% or less of the population from countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Ethiopia, have been fully vaccinated.
To date, Malta has administered up to 811,753 doses of vaccinations, including 5059 booster doses. There are currently 574 active cases and there have been 455 deaths.
