Vertex Alliance’s Ms Mixue Qin was invited to speak today at Uglobal’s Immigration Expo in Shanghai in the session entitled: Global Mobility Trends.
The session covered the key factors and programmes to consider when investing in a second citizenship or permanent residency visa, where to start and how best to proceed.
Speaking on the second day of the conference, Ms Qin, highlighted the benefits of Malta as a favourable jurisdiction for Chinese investors and outlined the main Malta investment migration programmes, namely:

Speaking about the Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP), Ms Qin, discussed its growing popularity amongst Chinese investors looking for a second residence option in Europe. Since the programme’s inception, foreign nationals from China represent the majority of applications. Approximately 90% of the total MPRP applications are from Chinese nationals.
The MPRP is an attractive permanent residence programme for a number of reasons for Chinese investors. The programme enables up to four generations of principally dependant family members to be included. Parents, grandparents and unmarried children from both the main applicant and spouse can apply. In addition, dependants can also be included after an application has been granted. The investment options of the programme are also favourable, the investor can choose between renting or purchasing residential property. The minimum rental requirement is a low €10,000 per year for up to 5 years. In addition, the main investment requirements only need to be fulfilled once the applicant knows that they will be approved.
