Vertex Alliance’s Managing Director, Kenneth Camilleri, was invited to speak at Uglobal’s leading industry roundtable session focussing on the investment migration opportunities in Europe.
The roundtable session, entitled: ‘Golden European Opportunities: Best strategies to acquire a golden visa or European passports for your family, and what the latest changes could mean for your migration journey‘, explored European programmes and taxation benefits for USA citizens from various jurisdictions including: Malta and Portugal.
The roundtable discussion included insights about the increase in demand for a second passport and permanent residence abroad by citizens of the United States of America. The factors that were highlighted for contributing to such demand included: higher cost of living, increase in property prices, taxation, crime and violence, and families seeking better education and healthcare.
The demand for an alternative passport or Plan B among high-net worth individuals continues to grow, with more investors looking for European options such as Portugal and Malta.
Malta, a member of the European Union and Schengen Zone, is the market leader in providing both citizenship and residency by investment options.
Malta’s Citizenship for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment offers citizenship after a residence period of three years or by exception, one year. It is currently the only direct citizenship option available in Europe. Malta also offers investors permanent residence via the Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP).
