The Malta Nomad Residence Permit (MNRP), offers third country nationals, who can work remotely, the opportunity to reside in Malta for up to one year.
Launched in 2021, the Malta Nomad Residence Permit is governed by the Residence Malta Agency and aims to attract digital nomads who can work irrespective of their physical location. Applicants need to show a minimum income of €2,700 monthly and demonstrate that this income is received from outside of Malta.
The Malta Nomad Residence Permit also extends to dependant family members. The cost of an application is €300 for the main applicant and each dependant.
Once an application is submitted, the Residency Malta Agency will review it and conduct the necessary background checks. The Residency Malta Agency aims to consider applications within 30 days of receipt. Successful applicants will then receive a Letter of Approval, inviting them to Malta.
Third-country nationals not requiring an entry visa may proceed directly to the country. Third-country nationals requiring a visa to enter Malta can apply for a Premium Visa at Identity Malta.

Applicants are required to visit the offices of the Residency Malta Agency in person to submit their biometric data and application documentation, leading to the granting of the Malta Nomad Residence Permit.
